Cannot blame anyone else except ME

Disha says
I always remind myself that I am open to what the Universe has to offer, I have tried it various times and noticed that I always get something better than what I had imagined.. ( Mind is limited, It always gives you reason why you don't deserve it) But I have learnt to stop my mind from interfering in Universal Matters :) and that is when meditation comes in handy.

Meditation is a switch off button for my mind. When I meditate, I switch off from the questions that my mind is asking me, take a breather and come back refreshed. I will then address what my mind had asked and take a call accordingly. Which in other words means I try not to react to the situation, whereas I act upon it, which also means that anything Good/Bad happening, I cannot blame anyone else except ME !!

Where Does Reiki Come from?

One of my student last week asked me Where does Reiki come from?

Reiki as such is seen having its roots in India having passed thru Tibet, China and Japan where it was rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui. Reiki in its Unlimited inner potential comes from no where because its everywhere in everything. Its ungraspable and yet can be directly experienced by anyone.

According to Usui's Method of Healing, Reiki is one of the branch of various healing arts.According to Usui's own writings Reiki that we have is known to be the combination of 7 tantrik teachings developed by layman and is connected with the scriptures and energy transmissions and attunements related to Buddha.
In a deeper sense as Universal Life Force Energy is the underlying nature of everything.Due to our preoccupation with the 5 senses we have forgotten that we have this bountiful source of energy.By being open and aware of the Energy we can draw how much every energy that we require.

Then why attunements?
The empowerment of Reiki is to reconnect or re-establish the direct energetic channel. In the beginning we feel that the energy is coming from outside and passing thru us and slowly we regain the awareness of all that we have is within our heart ( or within our body)

What is Reiki?

Reiki is Universal Life Force Energy that is specifically and only used for Healing. Reiki can be used for any kind of healing, mental, emotional, physical or spiritual.

Reiki Benefits include: – Fosters natural self-healing – Relaxes and reduces stress – Balances energies in the body – Relieves pain and discomfort – Adapts to needs of the recipient – Helps meditative states – Promotes personal awareness – Enhances spiritual connection !

Reiki is easy to learn and use and is getting some notice from the traditional medical community.

Most commonly ,the word Reiki refers to a simple hands-on healing technique which was rediscovered in the 19th Century by Dr Mikao Usui .
Dr Usui was born on August 15th in 1865 in Yago, part of the Yamagata district of Japan.
He chose the term Reiki to describe Universal Life Force Energy which calms the mind and raises the person's life force. ( Explained later on)
Through the use of soothing hands placed on the body in certain positions, the process of healing is accelerated. This form of healing is passed on from the Teacher to the student through mystic initiations (like in Tantrik form of Buddhism) known as Attunements.

Raw Papaya Recipes

PAPAYA

This versatile fruit can be used as a vegetable when raw and can be eaten as a ripe fruit too.
The pulp, skin as well as the seeds are used for various purposes.

As Children when a papaya was cut open we were forced to eat atleast 2 tiny bitter seeds..Hmmm...No choice there(which we generally gulped it down our throat with water !)..But now I know the ringworm theory behind it ..

Ripe Papaya has to be eaten within 20 mins fo peeling and cutting it so that maximum nutrients will be absorbed by the body

Don't miss out on the skin of the ripe papaya, rub it all over your face and wash it in tap water after 20 mins .

Feelings Precede thoughts

Instead of following my thoughts I have started noticing my feelings … My thoughts maybe positive or negative, My feelings will be neural and directly based on the present environment....If my environment is hostile, my feelings feel negative and that directly affects my thought and vice versa.

Feeling are my sixth sense. I realize my feelings are immediately followed by my thoughts…My feelings are the present, the way i feel at this moment…whereas my thoughts are either in my past or my future or about someone or something, where feelings is how I feel about something. Feeling is when I am a first party whereas thoughts are when I am the third party…

If i dwell on my feelings I will be able to prioritize myself as much as I prioritize others, especially for a social worker like me, who used to keep 'others' on priority than myself, By listening to my feelings I started keeping myself at par with 'others'.

If we can think and create, we can also feel and create , If thinking is for a third party, I would rather feel ad create for myself. Wont it automatically make my day better? and If i feel better won't I be able to give more back to the society ? is this a win-win solution?

If i dont get a closure to my past moment, the feeling will continue to the present moment and spoil it. All I need to do is start afresh moment by moment and make sure my feelings are balanced and neutral. If my feelings are balanced my day is balanced as I am not follwing my thoughts and creating blocks for myself.

Walking Meditation

Another way to awaken your senses is Walking Meditation in simple words is Meditation while walking. Being aware of every step that you take. As during Pranayama one is aware of the movement of breath similarly in walking meditation the person has to relax at ease, breathe lightly and enjoy every step with a light smile on your face.
This meditation is preferably done barefoot on grass or sand. While walking feel the tender grass blades touch the sole of the feet, this works like acupressure on the feet
The feet is filled with nerve ends which inturn send out signals and activate various parts of the body. In that sense all the parts of the body workout in a synchronized manner.
Enjoy the texture of the path your are treading on, the sharpness of the grass blade, the hardness or the smoothness of the rock, the coarseness of the sand Acknowledge each and every sensation felt by your feet.
Use your nose- smell the surroundings, Use your ears – listen to each and every sound - either of the birds chirping or just the wind blowing. As wind blows, enjoy the sensation when your body comes in contact with the wind- the goosebumps on the skin or the hair that touches the nape of the neck. Try to use all 5 senses to their maximum potential . Create awareness about each and every moment - Feel awakened .
